Privacy Policy
How BiteMeasure handles your account, food photos, and nutrition data.
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BiteMeasure AI (“BiteMeasure,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BiteMeasure mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account data
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and basic profile or preference settings needed to operate your account.
Food photos
When you scan a meal, we collect the food photos you capture or upload. These images are used to generate nutrition estimates and are stored securely so you can review and edit your log.
Voice and text descriptions
If you add details about a meal by voice or text, we collect that input to refine portion and nutrition estimates. Voice input may be converted to text for processing.
Nutrition estimates
We generate and store estimated nutrition information — including estimated calories, calorie ranges, macros (protein, carbs, fat), portion estimates, and confidence scores — associated with your entries.
Usage and device data
We may collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, language, crash logs, and general usage analytics to maintain and improve the Service.
2. AI processing
BiteMeasure uses artificial intelligence and image-analysis techniques to estimate the foods, portions, and nutrition values shown in your photos and descriptions. These outputs are estimates and may be inaccurate. We may process your photos and descriptions using our own systems and trusted third-party AI or cloud providers to deliver these features.
3. Service providers we use
Firebase services
We use Google Firebase for services that may include authentication, database and storage, hosting, crash reporting, analytics, and push messaging. Firebase processes certain data on our behalf under Google’s terms and privacy commitments.
Google Play Billing
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing (and/or the applicable app store). We do not receive or store your full payment card details; payment processing is handled by the store provider.
Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications (for example, reminders or updates). You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.
4. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Generate nutrition estimates and confidence scores.
- Save and display your daily log and history.
- Personalize and improve features and accuracy.
- Process subscriptions, trials, and promo codes.
- Send service-related and optional notifications.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties.
5. Sharing with approved connections
Your food log is private by default. If you choose to share a meal, it is shared only with the specific connections you approve. We do not publish your food data to a public feed. Information you choose to share with others may be visible to them according to your selections.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers (such as those listed above) who process it on our behalf, or where required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can remove individual entries at any time.
7. Data deletion & your choices
You can request deletion of your account and associated data from within the app or by contacting us at support@bitemeasure.com. Depending on your region, you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your data. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age required by your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Not medical advice
BiteMeasure provides estimated nutrition information for general wellness and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not be relied upon for medical, dietary, or health decisions. Consult a qualified professional for such guidance.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
