1. Overview
BiteMeasure AI uses artificial intelligence and image analysis to recognize foods and estimate portions, calories, and nutrients from the photos and details you provide. AI is a powerful tool, but it is not perfect. This disclaimer explains its limitations so you can use BiteMeasure with the right expectations.
2. Everything is an estimate
AI can make mistakes. All results in BiteMeasure — detected foods, portion sizes, calories, macronutrients, and micronutrients — are estimates, not exact measurements. We intentionally show calorie ranges and confidence scores rather than implying false precision.
3. Food recognition is not guaranteed
The AI may misidentify a food, miss an item, or detect something that is not present. Lighting, camera angle, plating, mixed dishes, packaging, and similar-looking foods can all affect recognition. Results are not guaranteed to be complete or correct.
4. Portion estimation may be inaccurate
Estimating portion size from a photo is inherently difficult. Without a reliable size reference, the AI may over- or under-estimate quantities, which directly affects calorie and nutrient estimates. You can adjust portions in the App and recalculate for a closer result.
5. Nutrition and macro estimates may be inaccurate
Calorie, protein, carbohydrate, fat, fiber, and micronutrient values are estimates derived from food databases and models. Hidden oils, butter, sauces, cooking methods, brands, and recipe differences can meaningfully change actual values. Treat numbers as approximate guidance.
6. Ingredients may be identified incorrectly
The AI may not detect every ingredient, may guess ingredients that aren’t present, or may miss hidden components (such as added sugar, oil, or allergens). Do not rely on BiteMeasure to identify allergens or ingredients for safety-critical decisions.
7. Please verify important information independently
For anything that matters to your health or safety — including allergies, medical dietary needs, medication interactions, or precise nutrition targets — verify the information independently using product labels, trusted references, and qualified professionals. See our Health & Nutrition Disclaimer.
8. The AI is continuously improving
We work to improve accuracy over time, and features and models may change. Improvements do not guarantee accuracy for any specific meal, and past performance is not a promise of future results.
9. Your responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing estimates, correcting portions and ingredients where needed, and deciding how to use the information. BiteMeasure provides estimates to support — not replace — your own judgment and professional advice.
