An AI nutrition coach that starts from what you actually ate

Coach looks at your logged meals, daily targets, and goal, then suggests practical next steps — what's left for today, what to eat next, and patterns across your week. It's guidance to help you decide, not a prescription.

How Coach uses your log

  1. 1

    It reads today's numbers

Your logged meals, your daily targets, and your goal — lose, maintain, or gain — are loaded from your account, and what's remaining is calculated for each target.
  2. 2

    It summarises where you stand

A short, plain-language summary: for example, protein on track but calories and fiber still well below target.
  3. 3

    It suggests next steps

Practical actions for the rest of the day and ideas for your next meal that fit the calories and macros you have left.
  4. 4

    It looks across the week

Weekly insights cover patterns over the last seven days, such as how many days you logged and how often you hit your protein and fiber goals.

Coach and Ideas: two ways to decide what to eat

Coach — starts from your day

Best when you've logged a meal or two and want to know what would round out the day. It answers “based on what I ate today, what should I do next?”.

Ideas — starts from your filters

Best when you're planning or browsing. Pick a nutrition focus (high protein, high fiber, lower carbs, and more), your body goal, a meal category, and whether you want food, fruit, or both. Each idea comes with a serving, estimated macros, and a one-line reason it fits.

How suggestions are generated

Suggestions are produced by an AI model that is given your remaining targets, your goal, and — for Ideas — the filters you picked. It's instructed to keep every number labelled as an estimate for the stated serving, to stay encouraging rather than judgmental, and never to promise outcomes or claim exact accuracy.

Because suggestions build on your logged meals, they inherit the uncertainty of those estimates. If a meal's portion was off, the remaining targets are off by the same amount — which is why reviewing entries matters. How AI confidence works.

What Coach can and can't reliably know

It can work with

  • The meals and amounts you've logged, and their estimated nutrition.
  • Your daily targets and how much of each remains.
  • Your stated goal and your logging over the past week.

It can't know

  • Anything you ate but didn't log, or the exact contents of a meal.
  • Your medical history, medications, lab results, or how your body responds to food.
  • Whether a suggestion suits an allergy, intolerance, or clinical diet.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Coach a registered dietitian?

No. Coach is an AI feature that gives general nutrition guidance based on the meals you log and the targets you set. It doesn't replace a registered dietitian, doctor, or other qualified professional.

  • Will Coach guarantee weight loss?

No. It suggests practical next steps that fit your remaining targets, but results depend on many things the app can't see or control. BiteMeasure doesn't promise specific outcomes.

  • What if I don't log everything?

Coach only knows what's in your log. If meals are missing or portions are off, its summary and suggestions will be off too — a quick review of the day makes Coach more useful.

  • Can Coach help with diabetes, pregnancy, or a medical diet?

Not with medical guidance. For conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancy, eating disorders, or questions about medication, Coach is designed to point you to a qualified healthcare professional instead of giving instructions.

  • How is Ideas different from Coach?

Coach starts from your day and answers “what should I do next?”. Ideas starts from filters you choose — nutrition focus, body goal, meal category, and food or fruit — and suggests specific foods with estimated macros.

  • Food Photo Analysis

Estimate calories and macros from a meal photo, with a likely range and a confidence score.

  • Portion Estimation

How BiteMeasure estimates how much food is on the plate, and how to correct it.

  • Macro Tracking

Track calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, and water against daily targets.

  • How AI confidence works

What confidence scores and calorie ranges mean — and what they don't.
